Cia. Orgânica is a company that is proud to work since 2002 with the production of certified organic and biodynamic products. This means food security. It is the maximum that can be made for your health.
Cia. Orgânica is born, at the centennial Fazenda Boa Esperança, in Ribeirão Claro in northern Paraná state – a traditional region of high quality Arabica Coffee beans. With the technical assistance from well-known biologist Rachel Vaz Soragge, the initial production of organic and biodynamic coffee was initiated, roasting 60 bags of organic Arabica coffee beans and 20 bags of biodynamic Arabica coffee beans. From the very beginning, the philosophy of improving the quality of life of the communities involved with the planting and preparation of our coffees has oriented all of our business investments.
The success of Cia.’s coffees expands in Brazil and goes after international markets. While starting up sales to the country’s major retail chains – such as Carrefour and Walmart – Cia. Orgânica is successful in its first international adventure, selling organic coffee to the Netherlands. Participating in international fairs, such as Biofach (Germany), brings its first good results.
Continuing a job well done internationally, Cia. Orgânica performs its first export of biodynamic coffee to the United States. In parallel, the company makes its first private-label project together with Sonae chain, with the brand ‘Big Life’.
Cia. Orgânica and Brazil’s major retail chain – Pão de Açucar (today owned by French group Casino) – sign a contract for selling the best organic coffee countrywide. Always willing to stimulate sustainable agriculture, Cia. Orgianica launches the ‘Café da Chapada – Social Coffee’ Seal, in order to stimulate the consumption of biodynamic coffee produced by a community at Chapada Diamantina – Bahia / Brazil. At this point, Cia. Orgânica was roasting 180 bags of organic Arabica and 40 sacks bags of biodynamic Arabica coffee beans.
Continuing the internationalization process, Cia. Orgânica begins to export its organic and biodynamic coffee to Japan and the United Arab Emirates. Cia. Orgianica finally reaches the eastern markets.
Cia.’s success is such that, after a long negotiation, the Pão de Açúcar Group entrusts the development of its own organic coffee private-label (Taeq) to Cia. Orgânica. As a consequence, Wallmart also starts its organic private-label coffee brand with Cia. Orgânica, named Sentir Bem.
With the domestic demand skyrocketing, especially when it came to certified organic products, sales in Brazil boosted Cia. Orgânica to reach the historical mark of 550 organic Arabica and 80 biodynamic Arabica coffee beans roasted.
New website, more attractive and technically efficient packages and the best e-commerce operation in the segment of organic gourmet coffees. Cia. Orgânica grows and expands its philosophy of sustainability, care for nature and respect for its customers.
